Several popular iOS apps experienced crashes on Friday morning, including Spotify, Waze, Tinder and Pinterest. Problems persisted for roughly two hours, though the apps for Apple’s mobile operating system appear to be working again.
Multiple members of the CNET staff experienced crashes with the Spotify app on iOS, and the Waze app also crashed for one staff member. There were also reports on social media of issues with Pinterest, Tinder and some other iOS apps. Outage monitoring site Down detector noted spikes in reported problems with a handful of popular apps on Friday morning, including Spotify, Waze, Pinterest and Viber.

The issue doesn’t appear to have impacted Android version of the apps.
Spotify acknowledged the problem on Twitter. “We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out! We’ll keep you posted,” the company tweeted. The streaming service gave the all clear just after 6 a.m. PT.

What is unclear is exactly what caused the problems, though some reports suggested it could be related to Facebook’s software development kit that manage things like logins, analytics and ad integration. The social network didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
Spotify, Waze, Tinder and Pinterest also didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
